Nominate your Constituents for the
2010 Victims' Rights Caucus Awards
DEADLINE: Monday, February 15

This April, the Victims' Rights Caucus will be holding their annual Caucus Awards Ceremony during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week to honor the men and women who work to protect or advocate for victims of crime.

Each year, we ask House Members to nominate someone from their district who has been a strong advocate for crime victims in your district or state. Nominations will be accepted for five categories:

1. The “Eva Murillo Unsung Hero Award”
2. The “Ed Stout Memorial Award for Outstanding Victim Advocacy”
3. The “Allied Profession Award”
4. The “Lois Haight Award of Excellence and Innovation”
5. The “Suzanne McDaniel Public Awareness Award”

This year’s awards ceremony will take place on April 14th, 2010 at 5pm (location TBD). You can download the Awards Nomination Packet HERE 

 

I. As Co-chairs of the Congressional Victims’ Rights Caucus, Jim Costa and I would like to invite you to attend an event with Rosemary Trible, wife of former U.S. Representative and Senator Paul Trible.  The event is from 3:00pm – 4:00pm on Tuesday, February 2nd in 122 Cannon House Office Building.  Rosemary will share her personal story about rape and healing and the need for more recovery resources.
