Unidentified Human Remains - H.Res. 340

Introduced by Congressman Chabot, on behalf of 3 Members of Congress, H.Res. 340 expresses the sense of the House of Representatives of the importance of providing a voice for the many victims (and families of victims) involved in missing persons cases and unidentified human remains cases.  100,000 persons are reported missing each year in the United States.  Currently, there are more than 40,000 sets of unidentified human remains sitting in police evidence rooms, coroners' offices, and medical examiners offices waiting to be i.d. for their remaining loved ones.  Congress must do all that it can to ensure that missing persons are quickly identified and returned to their loved ones.  H.Res. 340 is currently assigned to the House Judiciary Committee with 4 cosponsors.
