National Campus Safety Awareness Month - H.Res1288

On July 31, a bill sponsored by Rep. Joe Sestak (PA-7) supporting the goals and ideals of National Campus Safety Awareness Month, H.Res.1288, passed the House. Since 2005, Security on Campus, Inc. has partnered with universities and colleges across the country to designate the month of September as National Campus Safety Awareness Month. Among the 50 Members who signed onto the bill were Victim's Rights Caucus Co-Chairs, Rep. Jim Costa (CA-20) and Rep. Ted Poe (TX-02). This resolution encourages universities and colleges to focus on campus safety topics such as sexual assault, high-risk drinking, and hazing.
